OpenAI cut Luna pricing by 80% and Terra by 20%.
At around $0.06 per task, Luna Max looks like the obvious choice for a lot of knowledge work and high-volume AI workflows.
OpenAI says Sol helped optimize the infrastructure running these models. We are starting to see recursive self improvement with some of the savings passed on to customers.
How much came from real optimization versus pressure from cheaper Chinese open source models? Hard to say. Probably both.
Either way, I’ll take it.
